Tips
Ok, a few housekeeping tips before we get into the best chocolate chips cookies ever!
First thing is first,
*Take your butter and leave it on the counter until it’s soft. This is VITAL for the cookies to be soft and chewy.
*And if you’re like me and are doing this recipe last minute. Pop each butter stick in the microwave for 15 seconds. Just enough for the butter to get softened. DO NOT LET THE BUTTER MELT. That will be the death of this recipe.
NOOO. So I’ve tried this with softened butter in the microwave a few times. DON’T DO IT! it does compromise the texture of the cookies. Just leave your butter on your counter until it’s nice and soft for an hour or two. Trust me it IS worth it!!
*I use salted challenger butter that way I don’t need to add anymore salt. That’s one less ingredient You need to worry about. Genius or lazy? Shoot, ain’t nobody got time, especially a mama!
*Use white granulated sugar. This is not the time to be experimenting with your alternative sugars:)
*Brown sugar is absolutely necessary. You have the choice between light or dark brown sugar. Chooseeee LIGHT brown sugar for this recipe.
**PLEASE read the entire recipe below before you begin, so that you will have an idea of what you are dealing with:)

- 2 cups Chocolate Chips
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
-
Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Grab a large bowl (this is for your wet ingredients), mix the softened butter and sugars (brown and white) until combined.
-
Add vanilla extract and eggs, mix.
-
In a large bowl (this is your 'dry ingredient' bowl), mix flour, baking soda, cream of tartar (optional),baking powder. Set to the side.
-
Grab your dry bowl and slowly combine it into the wet ingredient bowl mixing thoroughly.
-
Add the chocolate chip cookies.
-
Use a cookie scooper or use 2-3 Tablespoons of cookie dough to roll your cookies and put them evenly spaced on parchment paper.
-
Bake cookies for 8-10 minutes, when they are just barely getting brown. It's usually closer to 8 minutes for me.
-
Continue to let the cookies bake and rest on the cookie pan for about 3 mins.
