My sister in law came to visit us over Christmas and she introduced to this healthy cookie alternative: Banana Oatmeal Cookie.
She had texted me the recipe a while ago and told me to let her know how they taste when I get the chance to make them. I was so excited that I made them the next day. They were awful. Bland. No flavor. I was scared to tell her I didn’t like them. All that matters is that she likes and enjoys them, right?
well, on her visit here she broughther banana oatmeal cookies, so I decided to try one for the heck of it, and let me tell you… They were DELICIOUS!
So, I confessed my sin to her right there and then. How I had attempted to recreate the recipe, but failed miserably! I had no idea what I did wrong at the time, but I’m guessing now, that I didn’t add enough cinnamon.
I told Christina she HAD to show me EXACTLY how she makes them before her trip with us was over. So she did.She pretty much eyeballs all the ingredients. So I will try my best to recreate the recipe for y’all.
2 Cups of oatmeal
5 ripe bananas (the kind with speckled with spots).
1 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
(Optional) 1 handful of chocolate chips
(optional) 1/2 cup of your favorite peanut butter.
the base of this cookie is oatmeal, banana, and cinnamon. That’s it! If you’d like to keep it simple that’s all you need to make these cookies.Although, I like to add other ingredients to make it even more tastier. Almonds, pumpkins seeds, chocolate chips. Whatever you like, you can add. It’s such a versatile recipe! For this recipe I added ‘enjoy life’ chocolate chips, because they are free of leading allergens. It’s dairy, nut, gmo, and soy free! The perfect add on to these cookies.
these cookies are a must try! If they don’t come out the way you expected them on the first try, don’t give up!!! These cookies are so delicious, healthy, and best of all easy! You can also trick your kiddos into eating a tad bit healthier with these yummy cookies, hehe!

3 Ingredient Cookie: Vegan and Gluten Free
*2 Cups of old fashioned oats OR instant oats
*5 ripe bananas
*1 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
(Optional) 1 handful of chocolate chips
(optional) 1/2 cup of your favorite peanut butter.
**preheat oven to 350
**Mish up all bananas in a large bowl with your fork. Don’t worry about it being completely smooth.
** Add the cinnamon to your mushed bananas (taste it to see if there is enough cinnamon, add more if necessary)
** Mix in oatmeal stir for 2 mins, check consistency. You don’t want it to be very watery. It needs to be a bit thick and sticky!
-
this is where you mix in your add-in treats. Chocolate chips and peanut butter are mine. Although the you can add whatever your heart desires.
-
Line a baking pan with parchment paper or just spray down your pan. Drop your mixture onto the pan. make sure it’s not too thick because you want it to cook quickly!
-
pop it in the oven for 15mins, upon taking out, allow cookies to cool for 2mins and then dig in.
